A celebration of life for Gerald E. Kinnett will be open to all family and friends. Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, at 4407 Highway 17 North (past the FLETC front gate heading toward Darien) by Brunswick Park Funeral Home. Viewing starts at 2 p.m with full military honors and flag presentation beginning at 4 p.m. Dress comfortably. Work attire is welcomed.
Gerald was an unique individual with many abilities and a special way of understanding things far differently than most of us. He looked for solutions, not for problems. Kindness, courage, forgiveness, leadership — the accolades are endless. The 25 years of life we shared were not enough.
He volunteered for the U.S. Navy at age 17, retired and began his second government career in 2008 at FLETC. He was still working at FLETC serving Homeland Security when he passed. Hard work was second nature to him all his life. He was honorable, well-respected and compassionate toward all people. He lived to serve.
He will be sorely missed but never replaced.
