Edna “Judy” Adkins Weldon, 80, of St. Marys passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge.
Born Nov. 22, 1936, in Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Julian and Edna Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Weldon, and daughter, Kristen Elizabeth Weldon.
Mrs. Judy had been a resident of Camden County since 1956, before moving to McDonough to be with her family 14 years ago. She was a teacher with the Camden County school system, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed sewing, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her son, Lance Weldon (Rachel) of McDonough; two brothers, John Adkins (Genell) of Arabi and J.W. Adkins of Vienna; two grandchildren, Whitney Elizabeth Weldon and Garrick Edwin Weldon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at St. Marys United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Statham officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time. Interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
