Rev. Robert (Bob) Allman died April 16, 2018, at the age of 98. He was original from Huntington, Ind.
He joins his wife who preceded him many years prior. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, then graduated from Columbia Presbyterian Seminary in Atlanta. He loved the South. He served churches in Salem, Jacksonville, Ala., Statesboro and St. Marys. After his full-time pastorate, he served churches in the Savannah Presbytery from Dublin to Jesup. He then retired. After his wife’s death he moved to live with his son (David) for 15 years.
He is survived by his three sons, Robert B. Allman Jr. (Betty Jo), David William Allman (Linda Sue) and Stephen Mellichamp Waters (Adam). He had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The memorial celebration will be at 4 p.m. May 20. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City and mark it for the music scholarship program. His favorite hymn was“How Great Thou Art.”
