
Mary Eloise McCain, 78, of Kingsland passed away Dec. 21, 2016, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Lois, as she was known by friends and Grandma by family, was born to George Dewey Futch and Maggie Lee Kicklighter on Aug. 18, 1938. Lois attended public school in Pembroke and after graduation became a wife and homemaker. Lois married the love of her life, Floyd, and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, many brothers and sisters, two children and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Floyd McCain; her two sisters, Martha Strickland of Claxton and Doris (J.C.) Brown of Brooklet; six children, Deborah Smith (Mark) of Kingsland, Jason Futch of Tennessee, Albert Overhoiser of Springfield, Ohio, James Overhoiser of Statesboro, Lisa Flake of Zebulon and Linda Mitchell of Tempe, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the Kingsland First Baptist Church chapel with Pastor Vernon Dillingham officiating.
