Virginia "Ginny" Ruth Miller, 64, of Kingsland, formerly of Woodbine, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019, peacefully in her home.
Ginny was born July 4, 1955, in Folkston, Ga., to Claude and Bobbie Sikes Miller. She lived all of her life in Camden County, and was a graduate of Camden County High School, and Brewton Parker College. Ginny was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodbine, where she began playing the piano for the church at the age of 12, and continued to serve as church pianist for over 50 years. Fondly known as "Miss Ginny," she taught piano lessons to many children and adults in Camden County for over 40 years. She volunteered her piano playing skills at Camden County High School for 20 years. She also more recently played piano for the Friese Studio of Music in St. Marys, and for other community theater productions. Ginny loved piano, her family, her church, watching movies, going to theater productions, sweet tea, and Cracker Barrel.
Ginny is survived by her brothers, Claude L. Miller, III (Macy), and Jim Miller (Penny), all of Woodbine, and her sister, Charmane Toliver (David), of St. Marys. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Ginny was also dearly loved and cared for by her friend and caregiver, Patricia Lemon, and Ametria Everette, of Coastal Home Care. She will be deeply missed by her family, her church family, her many friends, all of her piano students, and by the performing arts community in Camden County.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019, 11:00 am, at the First Baptist Church of Woodbine, with Rev. Bill Alderman officiating.
