Steven Randall Mefford, 57, of Kingsland passed away July 8, 2019, at Community Hospice of Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Services with military honors to celebrate Steven’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at Allison Memorial Chapel with Brother Dave Spence officiating.
Steven was born Aug. 14, 1962, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Gene and Joyce Mefford. Coming from Houston, Texas, he had lived in Camden County since 1992. He was a veteran of the United States Army, receiving the Army Service Medal and Overseas Service Medal, had been employed with the City of St. Marys, and was a SCADA operator with Kings Bay Support Service at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rebecca Mefford; children, Derek Hapney (Layla) of St. Marys, Michael Norman (Stefanie) of Kingsland, Jeremy Norman (Dawn) of Sugarland, Texas, and Amy Olsen (Nathan) of Ballston, N.Y.; grandchildren, Patrick, James, Tayla, Steven, Roxanna, Conner, Gary, Michael, Jr., Madison, Ryanne, Valerie, Hayden, Kassidy, Laurie, David and Parker; and great grandchildren, Torin and Liam.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of the arrangements.
