James Miller Kennedy, Jr., 83, of Kingsland passed away June 26, 2019, at Harbor View Satilla in Waycross.
Born April 14, 1936, in Evanston, Ill., he was the son of the late James Kennedy and Helen Rockwell Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy had been a resident of Camden County since 1993. He was a graduate of M.I.T.
Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the United States Army, retiring as Lt. Col. with 21 years of service, was captain of A Team during Vietnam and also a green beret. Following his retirement, he worked as a volunteer in hospitals in London, England. Upon returning to the states, he worked as an adjunct professor at various colleges.
Survivors include is wife, Rosina Kennedy; children, Stephen Kennedy (Dainelle), Kathleen Kennedy and Carl Kennedy; grandchild, Kinsley Kennedy; and brother and sisters, Mike, Nancy and Julie.
Services were held at 10 a.m. July 2, 2019, am at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with interment at 2 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla., with military honors.
