Ralph Alan Pearson, 65, of St. Marys died peacefully at his home on June 8, 2019, after losing his battle with bladder cancer.

He was born in Bainbridge and was the eldest son of the late Willie Florence Rich Pearson and Woodrow Pearson.

Mr. Pearson was a graduate of Bainbridge High School in 1972, attended Valdosta State College and received a master’s degree in education. His teaching career began in Camden County where he taught school for 32 years with a focus on history and government. Al wore many hats during his life in Camden County: Boy Scout troop leader, Masonic Past Master, musician, avid reader, devoted Episcopalian, author of the Clarion, a newsletter with a unique spin on politics and civic happenings in the community and an all-around testament to his sense of humor. He was a member of the King of Peace Episcopalian Church in Kingsland.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Rich Pearson; daughter, Kelly McMullen Wagner and “favorite son-in-law,” Daniel Wagner; granddaughters, Madison and Caroline Wagner; brother, David and wife Oksana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Patrick McMullen; and granddaughter, Meredith Lane Wagner.

Visitation was held at from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 10, Allison Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 13, in Bainbridge.

Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
