Howard Kight Sr., 89, of Woodbine passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018.
Brother Howard Kight was born to Joe Kight Sr. and Ardena Kight in White Oak (Jerusalem community) on Nov. 28, 1928. They both preceded him in death.
Howard attended the public schools in Camden County. He was a woodsman until he retired. He joined New Hope Baptist Church. He was joined in holy matrimony to Obenia Walker, who preceded him in death. Later, he moved to Woodbine and married Patricia H. Sullivan, who also preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his son, Napolean Walker; two brothers, Joe Kight, Jr. and Douglas Kight; and two sisters, Mary Walker and Beaulah Overstreet.
Howard leaves to cherish his memories, two loving sons, Howard Keith Kight (Sherill) and Chandler Laverne Kight(Sonia); a loving daughter, Florence Wilson; sisters, Verdie L. Mainor, Jannie Walker (Emanuel) and Emma Hill (McArthur); brothers, Willie Kight, Robert Kight (Rosa Bell), Albert Kight and Edward Kight; one uncle, Noah Kight; sisters-in-law, Loretta Kight, Ann Weston, Gloria Williams, Lorraine Sullivan and Louberta Sullivan; brothers-in-law, Bernard Sullivan, Theodore Williams, Mack Sullivan and Homer Sullivan; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a loving niece, Latresha Watson; a special grandson, Rufus Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We love you but God loves you best.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Jerusalem No. 1 Baptist Church. There will be no wake. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
