Rev. Clarence Odell Sapp, 92, of Woodbine, formerly of Brunswick, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Rev. Clarence was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Manassas, the son of the late Daniel and Margaret Sapp. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He pastored several Baptist churches in the area. He was devoted to his faith and family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Sapp.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Sapp; his children, Sharon Sweet (Dave), Gail Asbell (Garey, deceased), Davey Sapp (Shirley), Sylvia Brockington Edenfield (Billy), Dr. Terry Howard (Ellis), Roger Sapp (Robbie) and Lori Turner (Gary); stepdaughter, Annette Thomas; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, from the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons with Pastor Christopher Ogden, Dr. John Harris and Pastor Bobby Woods officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Palmetto Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or Bay Harbour Church of God Second Harvest Ministries, 3210 US Highway 82, Brunswick, GA 31523.
