Gladys Ford, 87, of St. Marys passed away peacefully early Monday morning, May 8, 2017, at the St. Marys Senior Care Center.
Mrs. Gladys Ford was born in St. Marys on Aug. 8, 1929, to the late Bernard Way and Laura Myers Way. She received her public school education in the Camden County schools. Like everyone, she fought hard to overcome many obstacles in her life. However, she realized that she could only become victorious through seeking God’s guidance. Realizing she also needed the fellowship of other believers, she placed her membership at Wheeler Street Church of God. She was admired and respected for being very candid and outspoken in her own unique way.
Among those who will hold on to cherished memories of their beloved are: one special daughter, Annette Russell (Melvin); two lovable grandchildren, Justin and India Russell; one caring and loving niece, Carolyn Brown; a special godson, Felipe Williams; a very special and devoted nephew, Boyd Way (Wendy); very dear and special friends, Mrs. Mabel Johnson and Sandra Craig; and a host of other nieces, nephews and caring friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Wheeler Street Church of God. There will be no wake. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Sunset Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
