Pecola E. Myers, 83, of St. Marys passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
Born November 7, 1933 in Dublin, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Johnny L. and Mae Bell Williams McClendon. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Myers, and granddaughter, Jayla Gillette Myers.
Mrs. Myers had been a resident of Camden County for more than 60 years and was a teacher with the Charlton County and Camden County school systems for more than 40 years, also to include the Ralph Bunche High School.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Rev. William E. Myers; children, Russell Myers, Rhonda (Fred) Reed, Sean (Felecia) Myers, William A. (Billy) Myers, Rossonna (Mario) Juarez, Corey (Mandy) Myers, Karen Scott, Dale (Jenay) Myers and Latoya (Nicholas) Whitbeck; brother, Johnny (Lana) McClendon; sister, Lois (Shelli) Stroman; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mrs. Myers’ life will be held at noon Saturday, April 29, at the First African Baptist Church in St. Marys.
