
Jesse Lewis Durbin, 67, of St. Marys passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Born Dec. 19, 1949, in Salem, Ore., he was the son of the late Warren and Pansy Durbin. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Jesse was a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy and served his country honorably, retiring with 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Kings Bay and was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Susan E. Durbin of St. Marys; daughters, Tina Frank (Eric) of St. Marys, Aimee Donahue (Jim) of Kingsland and Jessie Durbin of St. Marys; son, Jonathan Durbin of St. Marys; brother, Charles Durbin Sr. (Therese) of Salem; sister, Theresa Wallace of Eufaula, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Michael Frank (Morgan), Anthony Frank, Kimberlin Frank, Ashly Gentile (Jeffrey), Abigail Donahue, Robert Donahue and Rafael Fernandez; four great-grandchildren, Dresden, Daniel, Lucas and Cole; two godchildren, Matt Durbin and Margaret Schlag; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at St. Francis of Assisi Kings Bay with Father Ray Leonard, Father Stephen Gergel and Father John Kaul officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
An entombment will be held Monday, March 6, at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem with full military honors.
The family requests contributions in memory of Jesse L. Durbin be made to the American Heart Association.
