
Gary David Dubois, 48, of St. Marys passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
Gary was born Nov. 29, 1968, in Rochester, N.H., to the late Thomas and Lillian Dubois. He was raised in Somersworth, N.H. Gary was the youngest of five siblings. Growing up he was a star athlete who loved the outdoors. He graduated from Somersworth High School in 1988.
He became employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, then transferred to the Kings Bay naval sub base in 1992. He went through an apprentice program for welding, then after more than 20 years of service went on to become a shop supervisor.
He met the love of his life, Anne, in 1999 and they then married in 2003. Gary was a dedicated father and husband who knew how important a family element was. He was loved by everyone he met; Gary's extended family in Scotland adored him. He had a great passion for the outdoors that he loved sharing with his family. Gary will be truly missed, not only by his survivors but also by anyone who may have had the pleasure of knowing him.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Dubois; daughter, Stacey Wharton; two sons, Adam Wharton and Matthew Dubois; granddaughter, Ava Wharton; two brothers, Michael Dubois and Peter Dubois; two sisters, Cheryl Lagueux and Betty Lussier; Miller family in Scotland and all other extended family in New Hampshire and Maine.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Pastor Steve Kegley officiating. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home Monday.
