Glen Mitchell “Bubba” Kirk, 57, of Kingsland passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at his residence.

Born Oct. 3, 1959, in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of the late Ed and Geri Wood. He was also preceded in death by his son, Glen Mitchell Kirk Jr.; twin sister, Lynn Robinson; and two brothers, David and Johnny Knight.

Glen had resided in Camden County since 2004 and was employed as an electrician at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base since 1998. He enjoyed fishing, was a huge Gator fan and it was said he was fun-loving and life of the party. Glen was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Kirk, and daughter, Payton Kirk of Kingsland; sister, Cindy Cook of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Laurie A. Morton of Kingsland; mothers-in-law, Jeanne Murphy of St. Marys and Margaret Turney of St. Pete, Fla.; nieces, Shawna, Katelyn, Jessica, Melissa and Michelle; nephew, Donald; and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 25, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ray Perkins, Ricky Bickley, Jimmy Pausche, Joshua Palm, Brian Conner, Fadi Senan, David Harper, Donald Cook. Honorary pallbearers are co-workers at Kings Bay Support Services.

Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
