
Mr. Kenneth Victor Hanshaw, 75, of Woodbine passed away Jan. 16, 2017, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Mr. Hanshaw was born on Jan. 6, 1942, in Rochester, Pa., to the late Everett and Helen Hanshaw.
He graduated high school in 1959 and joined the United States Navy, serving his country for four years. After serving in the Navy, Mr. Hanshaw started working at Pittsburg Bridge & Iron Company as a welder and remained there for 25 years. Then he went to work with Kasgro Rail Road for 10 years.
Mr. Hanshaw was a very devoted member of the College Hill Methodist Church in Pennsylvania before moving down south to Georgia. For the last 12 years, Mr. Hanshaw has worked at Walmart in St. Marys. Mr. Hanshaw was a hard worker his entire life. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Mr. Hanshaw is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Dae Onna April Hanshaw of Woodbine; his sons, John (Tina) Hanshaw of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Matthew (Katee) Hanshaw of Kingsland; his grandchildren, Jade and Chaz, both of Kingsland, Patrick, Brook and Page, all of Beaver Falls; his stepgrandchildren, Katelynn, Jayden and Bobbie Lee; his great-grandson, Eli; and his nephew, Butch (Diane) Hanshaw of Yulee, Fla.
Besides his parents, Mr. Hanshaw joins his brothers, Franklin “Bud” Hanshaw, Robert Hanshaw, James Hanshaw, John William Coleman and Paul Hanshaw in Heaven.
Calling hours for Mr. Hanshaw will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Bishop presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Hanshaw’s honor to the SEGA Community Church.
