Alma E. Browning, 83, of St. Marys passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at her residence.

Born Dec. 3, 1933, in Woodbine, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rosella Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jordon Browning, three brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Browning was a lifelong resident of Camden County and was retired from the Camden Telephone Company with 40 years of service. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home to Lake George, fishing and word search puzzles. Most of all in her life was the love she had for her family.

A visitation was held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.  Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Steve Kegley officiating.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Wes Dixon of St. Marys; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Lisa Browning of Kingsland; three grandchildren, Chris Clark, Michael Browning and Rachel Sirmon; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton Clark, Haylie Browning, Matthew Clark, Victoria Clark, Hunter Sirmon, Brooke Sirmon and Blake Browning; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests contributions in memory of Alma Browning be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA  31525.

Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
